a legacy of community & continuity

The new Mobile Bay Riders Cycling Club is founded on a legacy established by “The Riders” organization. This riding group founded back in 2017 collaborated with several riding groups to form a Mobile Bay Area cycling community. This united group of cyclists established a formal community presence to promote a healthy lifestyle while advocating for safer bike infrastructure throughout the city. Our newly formed club and website endeavors to sustain The Riders legacy as an informational hub for all things cycling in Mobile and Baldwin Counties. Please join us in promoting our cycling community by becoming a member, as we know continued success cannot be achieved without YOU!!

An important part of our club growth entails publicizing weekly road rides (both social and spirited) and promoting awareness to other regionally organized charity rides. In Mobile & Baldwin Counties there are many informal, non-club rides, hosted weekly; such as, Stop and Smell the Roses, Oyster City Ride, ProCycle&Tri shop rides, and a LoDa Bier Garten Ride, etc. We hope to reach beyond the club by highlighting other rides with like-minded goals and share links to their events. As we learn about other rides we will endeavor to share this information on our site.

Additionally, special commemorative, or themed ride events (e.g., New Year’s Day or Mardi Gras Rides) will be included on the club calendar. If you would like to have a ride hosted or promoted on our website, please contact our Club Rides Officer for further information.

Safety is paramount to the club. We promote compliance with all local traffic laws and require all participating cyclists to respect and follow them. During rides, ride leadership is shared among those riders in front of the group. Lead riders are expected to lookout for the safety of following riders by sharing road conditions and traffic presence by communicating such conditions to others who follow. Through cycling advocacy and safety education, MBRCC hopes safe cycling can be enjoyed by all.
